Kortrijk, Coffee and Cobbles

Well, we are officially in Belgium, and what a fine place it is. Steve and I were on the same flight but not originally sitting next to eachother. However, our man, Aki at the front desk of NWA was able to hook us up so we sat together which made the flight much more enjoyable. We both watched two movies and played a bunch of Caveman Crunch which was basically Pacman with a different name. After that flight we had a quick layover in Amsterdam but our plane was delayed for an hour because there was an extra person on the plane. Finally we got up in the air and on our way to our final destination. Here is Eric doing his mandatory stretching routine before our first ride.We all hit the sack super hard last night since we had been up for over 24 hours. Today Eric, Steve, Jeremy, Zach, and I rode into Kortrijk which was a really cool ride. The town was awesome. It had a bunch of little cobbled roads that weaved in and out of areas with shops, sculptures and coffee shops. In fact, here (below) I am at one of these shops indulging in some coffee before we headed back to Izegem where the house is. On our way back we opened it up a little with some sprints to the town signs. However it was more of a joke than a real contest so Steve and I just took turns leading each other out and giving huge victory salutes. Eric completely owned the out of town signs though, scoring a perfect 3 for 3. He really has a talent for nabbing these important sprint wins.
Here is a picture of the town square in Kortrijk with Eric chilling in the foreground.
Later today Eric, Zach, and I rode out into town with the cruisers. Zach managed to capture this stunning image of Mr. Emsky wheelying one of the cruiser bikes. We headed back a little while later and got some food. I'm looking forward to tomorrow which is a small national race here in Belgium.
